WordPress, A Wise Investment

WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time. We believe it’s the future of web publishing. WordPress makes content managed websites affordable and easy for the common public. With a basic knowledge of the web, anyone can now become the master of their own domain. Organic Themes uses WordPress as the framework for all of our themes. And with the new release of WordPress 2.9, it’s better than ever. Here are just a few of the things that WordPress can do for you:

Content Management. WordPress is easily content managed. There is a small learning curve like with any new software, but after a very short time it’s as easy to manage as a Facebook or MySpace page. Rather than paying a firm or freelancer to constantly update your site, you can now make changes instantly yourself. That saves you a great deal of time and money.

Search Engine Optimization. WordPress is designed to be very search engine friendly. Meaning, your Google rankings will generally be higher than many other types of websites. The more people that find your website, the more traffic and exposure you will gain. In addition, plugins such as the “All in One SEO Pack” can greatly help your search engine optimization as well. Which brings me to my next point…

Plugins. If you want any kind of feature for your site, a WordPress plugin probably exists for it. There are plugins for web advertising, flickr, twitter, e-commerce, newsletters, weather, surf reports, RSS feeds, SEO, Google Analytics and so many more it’s ridiculous. Many of these plugins are developed as “widgets” that can easily be added to your site using a drag and drop system with the WordPress content management system.

Themes. We all grow tired of our website designs over time, but changing the design has always been such a hassle β€” until now. With WordPress themes such as Organic Themes you can change the design like you would change a suit. Meanwhile, all of the content remains the same. There’s no hassle of copying and pasting all of your content to a new site. Organic Themes offers premium themes. Our themes utilize the best quality of design and development and have features not found in most themes.

Blogs. Until recently, WordPress was most widely known as a blogging platform. However, it’s ease of use and updates to the WordPress engine have made it the perfect tool for managing entire websites, not just blogs. That being said, blogs are naturally integrated in to WordPress powered websites and a great way to attract visitors to your website.

Cost Effective. Although WordPress can be downloaded for free, the hassle of installing the framework, setting up hosting, designing and developing a theme and installing plugins can often be very time consuming to those unfamiliar with the process. Organic Themes essentially offers premium quality WordPress websites and services for a fraction of the cost of a typical content managed website.

These are only a few of the perks to owning a WordPress powered website. To learn more about the exciting developments of WordPress cruise on over to wordpress.org, and cruise back over to Organic Themes for a premium theme.

  1. Sometimes I feel guilt if I buy myself a WordPress Theme that’s made by someone else or another company. I feel guilt because I am a Graphic/Web Designer myself and it feels like I should be the one making my own WordPress themes….i don’t know if I should feel this way.

I saw the Organic Themes website and the themes are amazing. I am really digging the BOLD theme. I love the main layout of Organic Themes as well, amazing navigation, colours, typography…just amazing. I am so tempted to purchase the BOLD theme.

    • Hey Jeffery,

As a designer, I definitely know what you mean. Which is why I didn’t get overly designy with our themes by adding a bunch of background images and stuff. I wouldn’t call them minimalist, but I wanted to leave room for personalization with the design of the themes. So other designers can pick up where I left off and add background images, change colors and more quickly and easily.

I’m really stoked you like the designs!

    • Jeff, I feel the same way!
but what i am coming to realise, is that when you’ve been designing for a long time you just upgrade yourself..

like a chef starts out in the kitchen and cooks, and cuts all the pieces himself, then when he knows how its done he hires other people to do it for him and then just makes the corrections, because he now knows the taste!
Well Done! i think you are progressing! πŸ˜€ (me too, and im also loving the Bold theme – even considering to use wordpress as opposed to my usual joomla platform for this one!)

  2. Hey!

I absolutely love this theme! But I noticed there is a blank space on the Homepage Top Right area. How do I add a widget to it?

    Thanks!

    • Hello,

go to your Admin-panel, then press “Appearance”, “Widgets” then choose “Homepage Top Right” on the menu to the right (which will be visible when you press “Widgets”).

    • Hi,

I did that already. I was even able to put an image on it already. what I’m concerned about is the large space on the left side of the Homepage Top Right area. I can’t place anything on it.

  3. Hi there, how does this feature work “Show the set Feature Image on single posts”

the upper left part of my header is still blank,…there are no pictures appearing though my blogs has.

  4. Hello Folks,

I would very much appreciate it, if I could get some assistance from any one.

I just started using the free version of the theme Structure. Simply put, I am completely novice concerning it.

This is the problem. I see that on the homepage, between the header and the actual blog sections, there is a wide space. On the right of it is the statement:

“This is the home page widget area. You can use this space to add an introductory message
to your blog with a Text Widget or add any other widget here.”

I would like to know how to add some information in the space provided. How do I go about it? I have gone to Appearance —>Widgets, but there’s nothing there about this feature.

Please help someone in need. πŸ™‚

  5. Hi all, I had a lot of frustration using this template. I love the layout, but that space at the top proved to be very tricky.

What that space is for is a “Featured Image”.

When you go to make or edit a post, check out the very bottom right hand corner of the screen. This is where the option for a Featured Image is. By setting an image as the featured image, it will be placed in that space above the main blog space.

It’s actually really annoying that the Featured Image on top is then repeated as the blog image directly below it. Does anyone know how to make these different pictures?

    I hope this was helpful!

    Erica

  6. Hi Erica,

Thanks a lot for your help. Now I know what should be in that space and how it should be placed there. Thanks very much.

However, as you also indicated, the featured image also appears above the first article, and I, too, have no idea how to get rid of it.

Could anyone please help Erica and me? πŸ™‚

  7. Hello everyone,

I am new to the blogging world and I very interested in purchasing a theme from Organic Themes. I wanted to know if the themes are easy to customize without the help of a 3rd party customizer? I simply want to change the color scheme (Black & Lime green) and add a nice background. Would this be an easy task? I am thinking of getting the Block theme.

  8. I am using the Structure theme made by Organic Themes on my wordpress blog. I have little to no html/coding experience. I really like the look of my blog and I wish I could change the background so that only the sides are changed and not the entire blog. Is this doable? I’d really appreciate your advice. For reference, my blog is saymahai.wordpress.com – Thanks!

    • Hi Usaha,

You’ll need to create new widgets and add them to the Left Sidebar. First select from the different types of widgets available, e.g. ‘Text Widget’, then drag and drop this into the Left Sidebar section you’ll see in the Widgets area of the dashboard. In this text widget you can add the text of your choice and customize as needed. Save and refresh your site. You should now see this as your first widget in the Left column. You’ll need to adjust this based on which page template you are using, but this should give you somewhere to start when your reading settings are set to ‘Your Latest Posts’ (Customize > Static Front Page).

Please note that the Structure Lite theme does not come with our usual theme support, so you might consider upgrading to the Premium Version if you need further assistance (https://organicthemes.com/theme/structure-theme/). Not only does it come with additional features and templates, you’ll have access to our support forums for valuable help in getting the theme working right for you. If you have any questions about upgrading please contact us directly through the contact form (https://organicthemes.com/contact).

      Thank you!

  10. I completely agree with you. wordpress makes it all the easier, just by installing the plugin, we can do anything. and most importantly is very seo friendly
